Lexus LC - the serial version of the two-door coupe with the landing formula 2 + 2 was presented in January 2016. The car inherited the main design features of the Lexus LF-LC concept and was close in size to BMW 6 Series Coupe. The development of the model took four years, and it was personally supervised by the head of Lexus, Akio Toyoda.
The Lexus LC is based on the GA-L rear-wheel drive platform. A double-link suspension with double hinges is installed at the front, and a multi-link at the rear. For optimal weight distribution, the power unit, compared to previous generations of Lexus cars, was shifted back by 50 mm, the battery was placed in the trunk, and the seats were moved closer to the center of mass. As a result, the mass of the car is distributed in a ratio of 52:48 in favor of the front axle. Strong and lightweight materials are used in the body structure - power elements are made of high-strength steel, less critical components are aluminum, the roof (except for cars with a panoramic roof) and doors are made of carbon fiber, and the trunk floor is made of composite materials.
The first version was put on the conveyor LC500 with a 5.0-liter V8 petrol engine with 477 hp. and torque of 540 Nm. This power unit is combined with the new Aisin 10-speed "automatic". It retained the classic torque converter, but the transmission developers claim that the ten-speed gearbox will not yield to the Porsche PDK preselective gearbox in terms of shifting speed (it takes only 0.2 seconds to change gears). As a result, acceleration from 0-100 km / h takes 4.7 seconds for the two-door, and the maximum speed is limited to 270 km / h. The declared consumption in the combined cycle is 11.5 l / 100 km.
In March 2016, Lexus presented at the Geneva Motor Show hybrid version coupe - LC500h - with the new Lexus Multi Stage Hybrid System. The main engine here is a 3.5-liter gasoline V6 with a capacity of 299 hp. (348 Nm), and the combined output of the internal combustion engine and electric motors reaches 359 hp. The electrified Lexus LC performs the “acceleration from 0 to the first hundred” exercise in 5.0 seconds, but the “maximum speed” is limited to 250 km / h. But fuel consumption in the combined cycle is reduced to 6.4 l / 100 km.
The exhaust system of the Lexus LC coupe is equipped with active dampers, which are open by default in the sport mode of the control electronics, and also open in standard mode when it reaches 3500 rpm. In addition to this, special resonators in the intake manifolds “saturate” the sound.
Already in the basic configuration, the Lexus LC has 20-inch wheels, LED headlights and taillights, adaptive cruise control, a system for comfortable entry and exit (automatic change in the position of the steering column), a lane keeping system, front seats with electric adjustment, ventilation , heating and position memory, climate control, air ionizer, multimedia system with a 10.3-inch touch screen, driving mode switch, adaptive suspension and other equipment. In total, the model is presented in three versions: Luxury, Sport and Sport +.
