Lexus UX - the smallest crossover brand Lexus. The concept version debuted in October 2016 at the Paris Motor Show, and the Japanese production car submitted in March 2018 at the Geneva Motor Show. Lexus themselves did not really understand what the name means, and immediately offered two options for deciphering it: from the combination of the first letters of the words Urban + X-over (crossover), as well as from “Urban EXplorer” (“urban explorer”).
Lexus UX competitors:
The youngest member of the Lexus crossover family is built on Toyota Motor's TNGA architecture, a variation of the GA-C platform for compact models. Thus, the closest relative of the Lexus UX turned out to be a five-door Toyota C-HR built on the same platform. They share the same 2640mm wheelbase, but the Lexus is 135mm longer (4495mm) and 50mm wider (1845mm).
The new Lexus UX in the base front-wheel drive version of the UX 200 is equipped with a 2.0-liter Dynamic Force aspirated engine (171 hp, 205 Nm) and a new Direct Shift transmission that combines a CVT with a mechanical starting gear. Acceleration 0-100 km / h takes 9.2 seconds, and fuel consumption in the combined cycle is stated at 5.6-5.8 liters.
There are also two hybrid (front- and all-wheel drive) versions of the Lexus UX 250h. The power plant is based on the same Dynamic Force gasoline engine with HP reduced to 146. power (torque 180 Nm), which is assisted by one or two electric motors: one is installed together with the internal combustion engine and drives the front wheels, and the second as part of the E-Four all-wheel drive transmission is located on the rear axle. The total output of the system is 178 hp. The all-wheel drive UX 250h accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.5 seconds, while the all-wheel drive takes 8.7 seconds. Fuel consumption in the combined cycle - from 4.1 to 4.8 l / 100 km, depending on the modification and installed wheels.
Lexus UX is produced in Japan.
